Since the 2017/2018 season I have been playing for the Düsseldorf chess club, where I also work as a youth and base trainer. I am also a member of chess clubs from three other countries: Rochade aus Eupen, Belgien; Vianen DVP aus Vianen, Niederlande; Echternach aus Echternach, Luxemburg.
In 2014 I was the coach and captain of the Luxembourg national team at the Chess Olympiad in Tromso (Norway).
In the 2007/2008 season I moved to Mülheim Nord from Mülheim an der Ruhr. In the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons I was runner-up with this team in the 1st Bundesliga.
In September 2001 I won the Ukrainian Individual Championship in Ordzhonikidze (now Pokrov); the same year I also moved to Germany.
My first team in Germany was SK Turm Emsdetten, for which I played until the 2006/2007 season. In Ukraine I mainly played chess professionally, mostly abroad, but I already had some students and also worked as a trainer.
In 1997 my life was marked by another great achievement. After the International Master in 1993, Fide awarded me the title of International Grand Master.
An important milestone in my chess career was the awarding of the title of International Master by the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
At the age of 14 I was able to celebrate my first title in Ukraine by winning the school chess championship.
I joined the first chess club when I was eight years old. At first I played chess just for fun and was happy to make new friends. That changed when I met Alexander Vaisman. He became my longtime coach and made me who I am now.
My mother taught me to play chess when I was 5 years old.
