From the 4th to the 12th August I took part in a round-robin tournament in Oer-Erkenschwick, which was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the SV Erkenschwick chess club.
Since there were several strong young people taking part, it became a real challenge for me.
I led almost to the end, but then, as expected, I slacked off and ended up in midfield with 5 points from 9 games.
The special thing was that I scored better with black than with white; I also managed to play a few nice and instructive games.
I would like to thank the club chairman Frank Strozewski for the invitation to the tournament and the good playing conditions!
